The Beach is Calling!

Spring and warmer temperatures have returned so we are returning to the coastal waters for a nice sea breeze!

We are blessed with beautiful beaches just 10 minutes away from our villa in Fuengirola (www.mijastic.com).

Fuengirola is a beautiful coastal town located on the Costa del Sol in the province of Malaga, Spain. The town boasts a range of stunning beaches that are popular with tourists and locals alike.

Fuengirola's beaches are famous all around Costa del Sol. The city has one of the longest stretches of sandy beaches, spanning over 7 kilometres from Castillo Sohail all the way to Carvajal.

In total there are no less than seven main beaches in Fuengirola: El Ejido, Santa Amalia, San Francisco, Los Boliches, Las Gaviotas, Carvajal, and Torreblanca. On most, you will find everything from cool beach bars, sand sculptures, shops, recreational areas, opportunities to try water sports, and no shortage of sun beds. There are also bike lanes that line the boardwalk for easy access for cyclists.

Our personal favourite beaches are:

  1. Los Boliches Beach: This is a wide, sandy beach that stretches for over a kilometre along the coastline. It's a popular spot for families with children, as the water is shallow and calm.

  2. Fuengirola Beach: This is the main beach in Fuengirola, located in the heart of the town. It's a long and wide stretch of sand, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Here is also our favourite sea side eatery: Restaurante La Caracola, great seafood and views, and often with live music in the evenings!

  3. Carvajal Beach: This is a quieter, more secluded beach that's located towards the eastern end of Fuengirola. It's a great spot for sunbathing and swimming, with crystal-clear waters and stunning views of the Mediterranean.

  4. Torreblanca Beach: This is a Blue Flag beach that's located in the neighbourhood of Torreblanca, just a short distance from the centre of Fuengirola. It's a popular spot for watersports, including windsurfing and jet skiing.

Overall, the beaches at Fuengirola are known for their cleanliness, stunning views, and excellent facilities. Whether you're looking for a bustling, family-friendly beach or a secluded spot to relax, you're sure to find something to suit your needs in Fuengirola.

Pack your towels, and see you at the beach!
